Dalton & Associates, L.L.C. was founded in 1994 by Richard C. Dalton to provide legal services to consumers who had purchased defective cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, motor homes, travel trailers, motorcycles, boats, and other products. In 2001, after passing the Texas Bar Exam, Mr. Dalton was admitted to practice law in the State of Texas and the firm expanded its consumer law practice to the entire state of Texas. Mr. Dalton has devoted his entire professional career to fighting for the rights of consumers and in this regard has successfully handled thousands of warranty cases, more than any other attorney in Texas or Louisiana with similar years of legal practice. He has successfully litigated trials for numerous consumers, in both State and Federal Courts, as well as through arbitration.
In 2006, Dalton & Associates, L.L.C. opened an office in Dallas, Texas and hired experienced consumer attorney Craig M. Patrick to handle some of the firm’s growing Texas case load from that office. With the addition of Mr. Patrick,Dalton & Associates, L.L.C. is now the most experienced consumer warranty firm in Texas and Louisiana. Richard C. Dalton is one of Louisiana’s most-respected consumer attorneys specializing in lemon law and warranty claims. Mr. Dalton has devoted his legal career to fighting for the rights of consumers, and is a skilled negotiator and trial attorney. He has tried numerous cases in Louisiana State Courts as well as Federal Courts in which he practices, and personally handled over 8,000 lemon law/warranty claims in Louisiana and Texas.
Mr. Dalton earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Louisiana Tech University and holds a Juris Doctor Degree from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He is licensed in the States of Louisiana and Texas and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in Louisiana for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas. Mr. Dalton is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association and National Association of Consumer Advocates.

Craig M. Patrick is an experienced and respected consumer attorney who has focused almost exclusively on consumer warranty cases during his legal career. Mr. Patrick has personally handled over 1000 consumer lawsuits in almost every county in Texas. He has successfully tried numerous cases (both jury and bench trials) to verdict in every region of Texas, including North Texas (Dallas County), East Texas (Smith, Anderson and Bowie Counties), South Texas (Harris, Bexar, Jim Wells, and Jefferson Counties), and West Texas (Ector County). Mr. Patrick has successfully briefed and argued one case to the Texarkana Court of Appeals and another case to the Texas Supreme Court, and both opinions are important in the area of consumer law. Mr. Patrick has successfully represented clients in numerous lemon law proceedings before the Texas Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division.
Mr. Patrick has also handled several cases in arbitration and is knowledgeable and experienced in that forum. Recently, he was invited to speak at the 2006 Consumer and Commercial Law Course on issues related to the enforcement of arbitration agreements. Mr. Patrick is a skilled negotiator, writer, and trial attorney and he believes that his experience in consumer law is unmatched by attorneys with comparable years of practice.
Mr. Patrick was born in Dallas in 1971. He attended Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1992, graduating magna cum laude. He then attended Baylor University School of Law and received his law degree in 1995 at age 23. At Baylor Law School, he served as an editor on the Baylor Law Review and was published in that journal. After graduation in February 1995, he toured Europe for three months and in July, 1995, he joined the firm of Craddock, Reneker and Davis, LLP. In 2001, after five years of practice, Mr. Patrick became the firm’s first and only associate to be offered a partnership. In June of 2005, Mr. Patrick left the firm and moved to Spain to learn Spanish and travel. Upon his return to the States in January 2006, he joined Dalton Law Firm and opened its Texas office in Dallas. His practice is now exclusively dedicated to representing consumers throughout the State of Texas in warranty litigation involving defective cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, motor homes, manufactured homes, travel trailers, motorcycles and boats.
Mr. Patrick is an attorney in good standing licensed to practice in all State Courts in Texas, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas. He has handled cases in all of the federal courts in Texas and practices regularly in federal court.
